Jason A. Volet, Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney, practices Criminal and Municipal Defense. He is a 1995 graduate of Rutgers College, where he received his B.A. in Political Science, and a 1998 graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law. Mr. Volet is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. Mr. Volet also currently serves as Assistant Public Defender for the Borough of Allenhurst and a conflict public defender for Ocean Township, Manalapan Township and Freehold Township. Mr. Volet began his legal career as a law clerk for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. As a law clerk, Mr. Volet was responsible for researching and writing motions to be heard before the Superior Court, Law Division, as well as answering appeals to be heard before the Appellate Division. After his clerkship was completed, Mr. Volet began his career as an Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor in the Family Division prosecuting juvenile offenders. As an Assistant Prosecutor in the Family Division, Mr. Volet handled all types of cases from charging through trial. These cases included, but were not limited to: drug offenses, weapons offenses, theft related offense, assault related offenses and armed robbery. Mr. Volet was then promoted to a trial team where he prosecuted adult offenders, handling cases from plea through trial before a jury. These cases included, but were not limited to: drug offenses, theft related offenses, eluding, assault related offenses and armed robbery. Mr. Volet now engages solely in the practice of Criminal and Municipal Defense, utilizing the skills he learned in the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office to vigorously defend his clients. Mr. Volet is currently a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Monmouth County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey.
